About
When I’m not analyzing data or coordinating complex projects, you’ll find me caring for my special needs dog and horses—experiences that have taught me patience, adaptability, and the art of reading subtle communication cues. These personal passions for understanding different needs and building trust mirror my professional approach: whether I’m coordinating clinical trials with 95+ participants, guiding nonprofits through complex regulatory landscapes, or managing relationships with hundreds of stakeholders, my focus remains consistent—connection, understanding, and creating systems that work for everyone involved.
Marie Bellevue
My fascination with stories began as a student journalist seeking to illuminate overlooked narratives and evolved into a career centered on the belief that the most compelling approaches emerge when you can see the full picture: the stakeholders, the systems, and the stories that connect them all. As a UC Berkeley alum, I developed deep expertise in how narratives shape perceptions and drive action—knowledge that became practical expertise through legislative research, targeted communication, and working with everyone from community activists to state legislators.
Professionally, I’m a nonprofit consultant, research specialist, and writer who thrives at the intersection of analysis and advocacy. I love spotting patterns in complex data, building systems that solve problems, and telling the story behind the numbers. My experience spans coordinating multi-site studies, managing large-scale public events, and building operational frameworks from the ground up—work that consistently delivers measurable impact through resourcefulness that extends beyond traditional role boundaries.
What drives me is the puzzle of how systems work, how they break, and how they can be rebuilt better. From increasing engagement by 35% through personalized communication approaches to orchestrating comprehensive organizational modernization, I’ve learned that meaningful change requires both visionary thinking and meticulous execution. My background navigating complex regulatory environments—from federal compliance protocols to multi-jurisdictional event coordination—has taught me that sustainable change demands both compelling narrative development and robust operational infrastructure.
I’m particularly passionate about the intersection of research, policy, and communication. My work spans from investigating political landscapes through social psychology research to coordinating with government officials across multiple jurisdictions for large-scale public initiatives. This experience has reinforced my belief that effective advocacy requires both rigorous analysis and the ability to translate complex insights into compelling, actionable plans.
At my core, I’m drawn to environments where traditional playbooks don’t exist—where curiosity, analytical thinking, and the ability to find the right voice for each audience can create breakthrough solutions. My aim is to help organizations navigate complex regulatory landscapes and build campaigns that translate insights into measurable, sustainable change.
My Team
Ray (Raymond) – a 20 yr old American Saddlebred who was previously abused. He still struggles with comfortability with most people, but we’ve been each other’s best friends for 12 yrs. Together we have finished top three in our division at worlds, learned to jump, gone on trails, swam, and conquered any situation we’ve been confronted with.
Firefly – a 17 yr old American Saddlebred who was retired from showing after an injury in 2019. While no longer competing, he maintains high levels of energy and enthusiasm. He may have a tendency to be an anxious, runaway freight train under saddle, but otherwise he is the sweetest horse you’ll meet. Firefly and Ray have also become best friends.
Winter – a 7 yr old rescue originally adopted by a family member, but now lives happily with me. With no socialization as a puppy Winter still struggles with unfamiliar touch, though she loves to engage with people in her own way. Her intelligence and unique personality is evident in everything she does. At times she even seems to understand English.
Reid – a 5 yr old mix who thinks he is a herding dog. According to him, Ray and Firefly are his horses and they must listen to him. He is the cuddliest boy and the epitome of a velcro dog. While incredibly sweet and social, he is also quite impulsive. Reid can rarely be left to make his own decisions, though he strives to please and has superb listening skills.
